1: The Courage To Do The Impossible Lies In The Hearts of Men.
Plot Summary:
During the Napoleonic Wars, a British frigate, HMS Surprise, and a much larger French warship, the Acheron, with greater fire power, stalk each other off of the coast of South America. Russell Crowe brings great intensity to the role of Captain Jack Aubrey. Lucky Jack, as he is referred to by his crew, is well regarded by his men, who trust him implicitly, even after the first devastating battle and an apparent personal vendetta against the French captain. While the naval battle sequences are quite fantastic, the film is successful because director Weir chose to build the story to get to know the men who are locked aboard the tight quarters of a small ship and how they interact everyday. The officers and the mates are well-known by the time the final battle comes. Paul Bettany offers a strong performance as the surgeon and naturalist who balances the violence of his chosen life with the quiet demeanor of the scientist. He is the captain’s friend and confidant, the two frequently playing violin and cello duets together. The horrors of the injuries from the war are frequently implied, but vividly depicted in the reactions of the characters.

1: Every town has a story. Tombstone has a legend. 2: Justice Is Coming
Plot Summary:
A hollywood historical account of Tombstone, Arizona’s famed “Shootout at the O.K. Corral” and the events that led up to it. Tension between “the Law” and “the Cowboys” stirs as the Cowboys, led by “Curly Bill” Broscius, accuse the Earps (Wyatt, Virgil, and Morgan) and their outlaw/gambler associate “Doc” Holliday of interefering with their operations inside and outside of town. While fairly accurate in depicting the Earps and Cowboys lifestyles and the Earp/Holliday side of the story, the film leaves out one major point of fact. Historically, the Earps/holliday are accused by the Cowboys (aka the Clanton/MacLaurey gang) of being generally corrupt and specifically responsible for a Wells Fargo robbery which left a man dead and the coach cleaned out. The Earps/Holliday in turn accuse the Clanton/MacLaurey’s of the same. Tempers rise over this situation as well as over a court decision finding the Earps not guilty.

A while after he arrives at the airport, he feels that something’s wrong. He follows two men into the luggage room. They both try to kill him, but he kills one and the other gets away. He gets the dead guy’s fingerprints and faxes them to his friend Al Powell over in L.A. The man’s name was Oswald Cochrane, and he had been officially dead for two years. John then realizes that someone is about to screw around with the airport, and he’s correct. Colonel Stuart, a man who got “canned by congress”, as McClane says it, and his team of ex-commandos have taken control of the airport, shutting down the Instrument Landing System and the runways. He then threatens to cause plane crashes unless the plane carrying Ramon Esperanza from Valverde (the fictitious country used in Commando (1985)) lands at a runway of his designation. The Chief Engineer and the airport’s S.W.A.T. team unsuccessfully try to restore communications with the planes above. Because of this, Stuart crashes a plane. McClane must now try to defeat the terrorists and save his wife before her plane, and all the other planes, run out of fuel.
